Windows 10 & 11 are Operating Systems, Linux is also an Operating System, they all carry out more or less the same tasks, that is, running Programs/Apps on a computer. The big difference is that Linux is free (meaning it costs you nothing!) and is also more secure against all the threats on the web today.  We will have examples of both for you to play with and will discuss the differences and advantages of each. There will be opportunities to install Linux on an old laptop if you have one. Come and see what the world of Linux has to offer!

There are many versions of Linux, designed for many difference functions, but we will be concentrating on Linux Mint as it was designed with Windows users in mind.

There will be a break for refreshments (30 pence) at 'half time' so bring a mug along.
