Have you found out something exceptional through your Family History research? Come and tell us about it.   If you’ve used DNA to find a distant relative you didn’t know about, explain how you did it.    Are your family myths true?   Let’s find out.

Members will be invited to bring to the Group a short presentation of an interesting vignette that they have discovered during their research.  Possibly two members per meeting, say 10 minutes each.

For newer researchers we will spend time each meeting going through the principal sources of data - Eg "Ancestry", GRO, Censuses, electoral registers and how to access and use them.

Members may wish to bring to the Group any intractable issues in their research to see if other members can suggest ways of resolving the issues.  Perhaps we will take away a couple of these problems as "homework" to do between meetings and bring back the results to the next meeting.   We will not be doing routine research at the meetings.

Even if you’re a complete novice, you’re very welcome to join - we can help you get started on your genealogy journey. You’ll be surprised what you find out!

The meetings will initially be at Buckleigh House, Portsmouth Road, Milford GU8 5DP
